Importance of the locality:

Prison facilities, primary school building, garages and basement rooms of an unfinished residential building were used from 1992 to 1994 as detention facilities for Serb soldiers and civilians captured by ARBiH. The prisoners were kept in inhumane conditions and were subjected to abuse, beatings and killings.

Court trials:

On 9 May 2022, the High Court in Belgrade convicted Husein Mujanović in the first instance and sentenced him to 10 years in prison for war crimes against the civilian population. The War Crimes Department of the Appellate Court in Belgrade issued a second-instance judgement on 22 December 2022, varying the first-instance judgement by reducing Husein Mujanović’s sentence to 4 years and 6 months in prison.
In its first-instance judgement, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina acquitted Senad Gadžo, Zaim Lalićić and Suljo Hebib of charges for crimes against civilians in Hrasnica near Sarajevo, committed in 1992 and 1994.
