Former police resort at Boračko Lake / Cafe Bar Strela

Importance of the locality:
The resort at Boračko Lake was a site of detention for Bosniaks from eastern Herzegovina. The male and female prisoners were transferred to this site from SJB Nevesinje. The prisoners were subjected to inhumane conditions, abuse and beating, and many of them were killed or died as a result of being abused at this site.

As the former chief of the Trebinje Public Security Centre, Krsto Savić was convicted by the Court of BiH under the command responsibility doctrine and sentenced to 17 years in prison for crimes committed in eastern Herzegovina. The Court found Krsto Savić guilty of the forcible displacement of prisoners to the Boračko Lake resort, though he was not directly responsible for the crimes committed there.
Based on a plea agreement, the Court of BiH sentenced Radivoje Soldo, as a member of VRS, to five years in prison for the crime of unlawful detention, rape, inhumane treatment and abuse.
The ICTY convicted Momčilo Krajišnik, the wartime speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, and sentenced him to 20 years in prison for crimes against humanity.
