Primary School Dnopolje, village of Zijemlje

Location: Zijemlje Valley, East Mostar

Importance of the locality:

The school building in Dnopolje was used in the summer of 1992 as a site of detention for Bosniaks from the wider Nevesinje area. Serb forces, including Šešelj paramilitaries, subjected 76 prisoners to abuse, beatings and interrogations. After torturing and separating the women from the men, they executed the men. The remains of the victims were found in the Dubravica-Breza pit.

Court trials:
