The former forest estate of Kozila in the Municipality of Drinić was used as a detention site for Bosniaks from the Bosanski Petrovac and Krajina region. The prisoners were subjected to inhumane conditions and daily forced labour. The facility was run by VRS units.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) convicted a number of people under the command responsibility doctrine for crimes committed in Bosanska Krajina. Radoslav Brđanin, president of the Crisis Staff of the Krajina Autonomous Region, was convicted of war crimes committed in a number of municipalities in BiH and sentenced to 32 years in prison.
