In 1992, the Ivan Goran Kovačić Primary School in Livno was used as a place of detention for Serb civilians. Conditions were harsh and the prisoners were subjected to interrogations, beatings, abuse and killings. At least 13 prisoners were killed or succumbed to injuries from beatings at this detention facility.In 1993, the building was also used as a place of detention for Bosniak civilians and soldiers. The prisoners were interrogated and abused.

Court trials:
The Court of BiH sentenced Muamir Jašarević to one year and six months in prison and Sead Velagić to one year in prison for crimes committed during 1992. The judgement states that the accused Muamir Jašarević and Sead Velagić were found guilty because during the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Croat Defence Council (HVO) and the Army of the Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, later the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), the accused Muamir Jašarević and Sead Velagić, as members of the Livno HVO Military Police, during August and September 1992, in contravention of international law during armed conflict, participated in inhuman treatment of civilians, and the accused Jašarević also participated in torture.
